I just made this cake and it’s come out quite flat… is it not supposed to rise properly or have I gone wrong? If I have can somebody tell me what mistake I could possibly have made?! Thanks!

well today is my birthday and reading the comments i really wanted to try and make it with my mum. the cake came out perfectly and we were so please with our selves, now we have to see what the rest of the family thinks!!

Yes!! I made the full batch of icing, kept half undoctored and put a few drops of orange extract into the other half. I piped it onto the cupcakes using a large star nozzle and the icing was perfectly up for the job!

I just baked this recipe but as cupcakes. It made 20 standard cupcake size in medium muffin cases and I baked @ 160C for 22 mins. Perfect and so light.
