Presto Pasta Nights #75: Roundup
By Michelle | August 8, 2008
Phew! Twenty three pasta dishes later and I’m starving after ogling each one of them. Did you realise that 25% of a proper cookbook? From soups to stir-fries, there’s something for everyone, even for fussy eaters! Let’s see what’s in store this week.
Sharon, of Bird Food, loves the cookbooks her grandmother gave her years ago. She has prepared quite a few of these recipes, but the Eggplant Lasagna with Cheese Sauce was a first for her.

Ching, of Little Corner of Mine, must have definitely heard of the expression ‘waste not, want not’ because take-out leftovers that might have headed for the bin in another household, got used instead to make a lovely soba noodle stir-fry.

Her husband groaned when Sara, of Eatin’ Good in the Hood, bought some whole wheat linguini but was quickly won over by her amazing Linguini with Pea and Basil Pesto and Shrimp.
Vegetarians on a low-fat diet, here is a great recipe for you! Yasmeen, of Health Nut, made a Cilantro Mint Pesto Pasta; healthier you just can’t get.
Fellow cookbook and food magazine addict, Ruth of Once Upon a Feast, is the brain child behind Presto Pasta Nights. This week she serves up Hong Kong Style Shrimp Noodles with Zucchini, Chili Peppers, & Basil.

After a long break in Southern California, Eliza of Food Diary, is happy to be home in Oregon again. She celebrated the occasion with Macaroni Pesto Salad.

Grandchildren are simply irresistible and Gilli of So So Simple couldn’t wait to spend some time with hers. She didn’t forget to look after her husband before she left and made him some satisfying Tuna and Tomato Spaghettini Bake.

There are an infinite number of Spaghetti Bolognese recipes swirling around the internet, but which ones are fool-proof? Experienced cook Ivy of Kopiaste…to Greek Hospitality shares her wisdom on how she makes her Greek version, Makaronia me Kima.

Do you know how to pronounce Orecchiette? Don’t ask me, from now on I’m copping out and saying “little ears” instead. Kaykat of Cooking from A to Z was over the moon with her Orecchiette and Cauliflower with Chives-Parsley Pesto.

Kittie of Kittens in the Kitchen has proven to us you can feed a family of 4 for under $10. She put an interesting Scottish spin on this dish: Hot Lemon Asparagus Bucatini with Crunchy Sausage Topping.

Shelvy of Food Photography Gallery provided us with a great-looking Spaghetti a la Mushroom.

Wiffy of Noob Cook shows us how to prepare the cheat’s version of Bak Kut Prawn Noodles. As she says: easy peasy!
How about having cocoa with your pasta? Definitely different and definitely worth a try. Dani of Forty Dollar Gourmet presents us Beet Green Pasta.

Tigerfish of Teczcape practised some fusion cooking, Soba Bolognese. It works!
Tired of fatty foods and feeling slightly guilty for indulging so much, Rita from Mochachocolata-Rita takes the light and healthy route this time round with her Fish Rice Noodle Soup.

Protein, check. Starch, check. Vitamins, check. Of course, Serena’s, of Rock Cakes, Sausage Pasta with Beans and Courgettes is a well balanced meal; she’s studying for her doctoral in nutrition after all!

Even though Marye of Baking Delights haven’t visited Monterey in 25 years, she still remembers the tonnes of fresh produce available when she visited. Hence, she created a dish in its honour: Pasta Monterey.
This roundup wouldn’t be complete without a bit of chicken. Luckily, Sherra of Our Taste of Life filled the gap with her Chicken Fettucini with Creamy Tomato Sauce.

Having to cook for the family and pleasing everyone at the same time can be quite stressful Laura, of Sweet & Savory Stress Relief, found out. No worries, everyone was happy after she prepared a delightful Creamy Lemon Pasta with Grilled Chicken.

Have you done some shopping, only to discover at home that an item is missing? That’s what happened to Brooke, of Victuals & Libations, and her prosciutto. Here’s her delectable Pasta With Prosciutto & Peas.

Katie, of Thyme for Cooking, might be perplexed by the jumbled English language and its borrowed words from other European languages but something that doesn’t confuse her is cooking. She whipped up a fine looking Pasta with Tuna, White Beans and Fresh Tomato Sauce.

Ben of What’s Cooking? proves to all of us that a bland looking bowl of pasta, meat and veg can be jazzed up in a jiffy with a special sauce, Ben’s Bean Sauce.

Deb of Tastie urges us all to have a go at Chicken Laksa. Can you blame her? This looks simply irresistible!

Last but not least is my entry: Fresh Tuna & Mango with Lime Noodles.
That’s it guys, thanks for being good sports! I have another event running, so if you want to show off your sandwiches, click here for more information.
Thanks, Ruth for the wonderful opportunity! It has been a real pleasure!
