Simply Summer by Angela Tunner

Tunner used to cook in sweltering heat during summers and when she finally stopped working in restaurant kitchens she put a stop to it. What this book is about is how to make the most delicious meals with little fuss in the minimum amount of time.
The introduction is loaded with handy tips and shortcuts. The no-cook cooking she resorts to is even environmentally friendly, simply by keeping the use of electrical equipment to the minimum. Emphasis is on fresh, local produce for the best possible flavour. Most people’s appetites decrease in summer and this book’s recipes tend to be lighter and smaller portions.
The Strawberry & Orange Juice went down a treat.

The moment I saw this sandwich, I knew I just had to make it. It tasted too good to be true.

I needed to prepare the Balsamic Onions first in order to get the sandwich. They are so delicious I enjoy them with almost everything.

Conclusion
Unfortunately, the book has no colour photos accompanying recipes. On the upside all pages are professionally laid out and a joy to read. Not one recipe I tried was a dud and there are more that definitely get my taste buds dancing when I page through the book. What a way to enjoy summer!
