Happy New Year 2009!

Happy New Year 2009!

Pour yourself a healthy dose of Buck’s Fizz, raise your tipple and let me wish you a very Happy New Year! May the best time of your life await you in the big banging year of 2009!

To kick things off, I would like to whizz through my personal favourite recipes of 2008, as I’ve done last year and reflect on my resolutions, old and new.

Sexiest Sandwich

Even on a diet my thoughts turned to this Goat’s Cheese, Sundried Tomato & Walnut Sandwich instead of chocolate!

Veritable Vegetarian/Vegan

If there is one reason why anyone would decide to go vegetarian/vegan, this would be it: Roasted Pumpkin, Red Peppers & Onions with a Sweet Balsamic and Mustard Dressing on a bed of Couscous.

Happy New Year 2009!

Sumptuous Seafood

If you’re in a mussel mood, you can’t get any better than this Mussels with Leeks, Sherry and Cream dish. On the other hand, if you’re more a prawn type of person, you must try Prawns in Spicy Coconut Sauce!

Perfect Pasta

He may be one big, fat cheater (or maybe just a good marketer), but I have to give Gordon Ramsay credit for coming up with some darn good recipes, like Pancetta, Leek & Mushroom Pasta.

Happy New Year 2009!

Astonishing Asian

While Chicken with Lemon Sauce is an all time classic, this Chinese BBQ Pork Stir Fry is something radically different and totally addictive.

Happy New Year 2009!

Super Salad

For starters I wasn’t too keen on the idea of Green Bean, Red Onion & Pecorino Salad, but I forced myself to try it and was in for a pleasant surprise.

Delectable Dessert

If you are looking for a perfect fool-proof brownie recipe, look no further, because this is it. It has been doing the rounds with other bloggers too.

Happy New Year 2009!

Now what about 2009?

More Recipes

Tick. More recipes were supplied last year and there is many more to come. During the year I had trouble deciding how, what and when I will do my posting, but after almost 2 years I’ve finally made up my mind. My intention will be to post 2 new recipes a week. In the meantime, if I come across any food-related products and services I will review them too.

Seriously Sassy South African Cooking

Oy, one big cross. The closest I came to blogging about my far away cuisine was Pancakes with Cinnamon & Sugar. This year I won’t make any promises, when you do see a recipe, consider it your lucky day. Happy New Year 2009!

Fight the Flab

Half a tick. Certainly lost some, but not as much as I wanted to. This project continues…

Crazy Competitions

Although I hosted a few blog challenges as well as created my own, SnackShots, I fell off the wagon never to get on again. It is hard work and very time consuming and therefore a big pat on the back should go to bloggers who continuously selflessly contribute to the food world by hosting these events. Check out Is My Blog Burning.

Other Ventures

So what do I do when I’m not posting recipes for you on Greedy Gourmet?

Well, running after a very active toddler keeps me on my toes. In that precious hour or two he is asleep it’s hard to resist not taking a break, but when the energy is there I love learning more about photography and Photoshop. So much so, that I’ve started doing commissions and so far it is going well. I will post the details of my portfolio website when it is up and running.

That’s all for now, guys! Thanks for sticking with me for almost 2 years. Seeing Greedy Gourmet’s numbers go from strength to strength is a real motivating factor for me and I’ll carry on giving my all.

Let the fun and games begin!

I just came across your blog and I’ve gotta say, I love it! Especially the sexy sandwich in this post. What’s not to love! I admire the dedication you put into your blog, which sometimes I lack (along with patience) to craft each entry with the love n care it needs.

Bravo to you! 2009 will be great!
