- 1.5kg (2lb 5oz) Asian pears, peeled, cored and chopped
- 225g (1/2 lb) onions, peeled and finely chopped
- 375ml (1 1/2 cups) white wine vinegar
- 200g (1 cup) brown sugar
- 145g (1 cup) raisins
- 225g (1 cup) dates, chopped
Instructions
- Place all the ingredients in a large, heavy-bottomed pan.
- Stir over a medium heat until all the sugar has dissolved then bring to the boil.
- Lower the heat to a simmer, then cook, uncovered, for an hour or until the chutney has thickened.
- Pour into hot sterilised jars and seal.
- Label, once cooled. Enjoy!
