Special Equipment Needed To Make This Recipe
This recipe is easy to make, but it helps if you have the right equipment:
- Shaker - Get a shaker to easily make this delicious cocktail. Your favourite type will work, but if you don’t have one, I suggest checking out this one.
- Jigger - You’ll also want to get a jigger. You’ll use this to measure your alcohol.
- Martini glass - You’re making a creamy eggnog martini, so of course you’ll need martini glass. There are plenty of good quality martini glasses available for a good price. Your sugar rim will really pop on this one. Pop it in the freezer before you make the drink so you have a chilled martini glass. This will keep the cocktail cool for longer.
Special Ingredients You Need For This Recipe
You should have most of the ingredients, if not all, for the decoration in your pantry, but it may be a little harder to find the ingredients for the actual drink.
- Eggnog - Eggnog is typically only sold around the holiday season. Once Thanksgiving rolls around, look in the milk and dairy aisles at your local grocery store for eggnog. If it’s not for sale, you can make your own.
- Vanilla vodka - For this Christmas cocktail, you need vanilla vodka. Vanilla flavored vodka can be found at major retailers or it can be purchased online.
- Amaretto - Amaretto can also be found online or at major retailers. You may even be able to find it at your local liquor store.
How To Make This Recipe
Step 1: Start by decorating your glass. Heat caramel on a plate in the microwave until it is runny.
Step 2: On a separate plate, combine the sugar and cinnamon.
Step 3: Dip the rim of your glass into the caramel, then immediately dip it into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Step 4: Now it’s time to make your eggnog martini. Put the eggnog, vanilla vodka, amaretto, and ice into the cocktail mixer.
Step 5: Shake until well combined and strain into your garnished glass.
Top Tip
Do not let the caramel get hard before dipping it into the cinnamon sugar. It needs to be hot and runny for the spices to stick.
