You read that right! The first fruits that start with N are nutmeg. The spice that we all know and love comes from a seed that is inside the nutmeg fruit. Which is in fact an edible fruit.
Mostly grown in Indonesia during the summer, nutmeg fruit is a small pale yellow fruit. The thin firm skin covers a pale dense flesh that is edible, but not easy to eat.
It has a slightly sweet taste, but nutmeg fruit tastes better when dried or made into jam.

Nance fruit, also known as Golden Cherry, are small fruits that grow in clusters throughout South and Central America. Nance fruits look a lot like cherries, but have a bright yellow skin and a pale white flesh.
Its flesh is much starchier than regular cherries, but nance fruit have a similar sour-sweet taste. Some like to eat nance fruit raw or cooked into desserts.
The peak months of nance fruits range from late summer to early fall.
This plum variety is much smaller than the typical plum. Nonda plum, grown in Northern Australia and New Guinea, are a wild variety of plum. These fruits that start with n are about the size of a quail egg, and the nonda plum fruit has a green-brown skin.
The edible fruit has a white flesh that is hard in texture. Nonda plum fruit is harvested during the dry season, and is typically eaten raw.

They’re large and round like an apple, but have the mild flavor of pears. With its crispy texture, nashi pear makes for a lovely snack. Harvested from February to October, these round pears are blended and added into marinades.

One of the oldest apples grown in the United States is the northern spy apple. How this apple variety got its name is a mystery, but they are quite delicious.
They grow in the northeast in October and November, and have a green-red streaky skin. The pale white flesh of the northern spy apples are crispy and a bit tart. It’s a great apple to use in desserts and juices.
