This recipe comes with a health warning. Once you take a bite you won’t be able to stop!
I love sweet potatoes. One of my favourite snacks is to switch on the oven, chuck in a few whole sweet potatoes and bake them for 45 minutes or so, while I’m busily doing something else.
With great anticipation I’ll remove them from the oven, half them lengthways, drown them in chunks of butter and eat much more than I should. That was until I came across this recipe…
Due to the sweet potato’s high beta-carotene content, I wouldn’t have been surprised if the baby came out with an orange skin, resembling Lindsay Lohan and other fake-tan obsessed Hollywood celebrities.
That’s to give you an idea of how many of these chippies I ate during pregnancy… You’ve been warned!

That looks goood Michelle, must try it... boys will probably love it 🙂 Hope you had wonderful holidays... I'm getting crazy at home with the kids for few more days until school starts.

That's weird. I've made this lots of times over the years. The chips don't come out crispy because they're not fried not covered with (corn) flour. The tabasco does give it a nice kick though and the sesame seeds a nutty flavour. Hope you have better luck next time!

I tried to make them after our visit to Cabana mine were not nice at all. How could I have messed up such a simple recipe - will try again
How's it Taste?
I left out the Tabasco and instead had a generous helping of spicy brown mustard on the side for dipping. Fan-tastic! Thank you for this!

These look absolutely delicious. Love roasted sweet potatoes already but would never have thought to add sesame seeds.
Also @ Jessica above: Make sure you're adding plenty of oil. Many people make the mistake of trying to go healthy and not adding enough oil and the chips won't crisp properly. Also make sure the oven is really hot, turning up the heat towards the end of cooking if required.

Is pregnancy a requirement for eating these? 😉 Or perhaps they can help with my own milky pale skin?
