Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup mirin
  • 1/2 cup sake
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce, mirin, sake, and brown sugar.
  2. Heat and Dissolve Sugar: Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring to ensure the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Simmer and Thicken: Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly and glossy.
  4. Cool and Store: Remove the sauce from heat and let it cool. Transfer the cooled sauce to a clean bottle or jar.
  5. Storage: The sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a month.

Notes
