Equipment you'll need for this recipe

Before you start making this Biscoff milkshake recipe, there are a few key items you'll need:

    • Blender or food processor – the all-important kitchen utensil that will bring your magnificent milkshake to life. If you're a big fan of milkshakes and make them regularly, don't skimp on quality and invest in a really good blender or food processor.
    • Measuring jug – still using that old faded measuring jug? It's time to invest in something where you can actually see the measurements. A measuring jug is key, as precision will result in a milkshake with the perfect velvety thickness.
    • Milkshake glasses – serve your milkshake up in style with some swanky milkshake glasses
    • Ice cream scoop – a simple, classic, easy to use ice cream scoop is needed for the vanilla ice cream in this recipe
    • Reusable straws – be sustainable and get some reusable straws rather than single-use straws for your delicious milkshake

    Ingredients needed for this recipe

There are also a couple of important ingredients you'll need:

    • Biscoff smooth biscuit spread – the star ingredient to this Biscoff milkshake
    • Lotus Biscoff biscuits – you'll need a bumper back of Biscoff biscuits to back this milkshake

    Variations to this recipe

    Make it vegan

Lotus Biscoff spread and Biscoff biscuits are both vegan, so all you need to make this a vegan Biscoff milkshake, use vegan vanilla ice cream or any kind of dairy free ice cream and any kind of dairy free milk. I recommend using almond milk or soy milk, as the flavor will pair will with Biscoff.

You can also use vegan whipped cream as a topping for your vegan milkshake.

    Popular substitutions for this recipe

Can't find Biscoff? Any kind of cookie butter will work as an alternative.

    Top Tips

Making a milkshake is easy. Making the perfect milkshake? That's a whole different matter.

Balance is absolutely crucial! The measurements below are designed for the precise ratio of milk, ice cream and Biscoff spread/biscuits. Don't be tempted to wing it with the measurement – use a measuring jug.

glass of biscoff milkshake with marshmallows.

Can I add ice cubes to this Biscoff milkshake recipe?

I recommend leaving ice cubes for use in smoothies. You don't want to dilute the rich creamy deliciousness of milkshakes. The coolness of the ice cream and the milk is enough to bring that refreshing cool temperature.

What kind of ice cream should I use for a Biscoff milkshake?

Avoid going too sweet and go for a simple vanilla ice cream. Go for a good quality ice cream – you don't need to break the bank, but really cheap vanilla ice cream will result in a poor quality milkshake.

Can I make this milkshake ahead of time?

Absolutely! It's extremely easy to make this recipe in advance and serve it up when you're ready. It will stay fresh for a few days, so you can make it days in advance.

How do you store Biscoff milkshakes?

This Biscoff cookie butter milkshake should be stored in the fridge in an airtight container. It will stay fresh for about four days.

Why is my milkshake too thin?

Most likely because the ratios are off. Make sure you follow the exact guidelines and you should have the perfect creamy milkshake.

If your milkshake seems to be too thin, you can add more ice cream to thicken the mixture.
